State Health Systems Resource Centre (SHSRC), Kerala, has been established as a technical support unit for the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Kerala. It is the sate version of National Health Systems Resource Centre established under Government of India. SHSRC Kerala also serves as the think-tank of Arogyakeralam (NRHM in Kerala).

Objectives

• To provide technical assistance and capacity building measures to Dist. health Institutions
• Providing Support to State Health system to develop strategy planning in health initiations, innovation and change management
• Quality improvement in health care through managerial interventions
• To derive a viable Human Resource Planning (HRP) for all health institutions
• To under take reform activities in Health institutions
• To act as Health Data Warehouse

Proposed activities

1. Mid term evaluation of activities of NRHM
2. Gap analysis of existing Healthcare Service Delivery System
3. Health Management Information System –its status (effectiveness study)
4. Health Human Resource Planning for all institutions for the year 2011-12
5. Evaluation of quality improvement systems implemented in district level institutions
6. Programmes for integrating AYUSH activities to improve Health Service Delivery to the public
7. Evaluation of ASHA activities for women and child care in Kerala
8. Evaluation study on utility of infrastructure development done under NRHM in Kerala
